Within 48 hours, Class of 2021 Tight End Landon Whittemore, picked up his first six Division I offers. UAB, Austin Peay, Jacksonville State, EKU, UT Martin , and TN TECH all offered the 6’4, 220lbs Macon County High School (Lafayette, TN) standout this week. This comes as no surprise after we watched his tape back in December after his coach sent his application in for the 2020 Appalachia Prep Combine. Instantly, his size and skill-set was noticed, which prompted us to term him as a future FBS prospect who would be soon landing offers. These offers are impressive when you consider Landon plays in a Wing-T offense that doesn’t throw the ball much. “They use me mostly as a blocking TE. The few times we do throw the ball we throw it to me I guess”, Whittemore explained. Whittemore currently holds a 4.0 GPA with a 31 ACT while competing in Tennessee’s Class 4A – Region 3 Division.
Landon began talking about receiving the first offer that got the ball rolling with UAB. “Coach Nicks and Coach Craddock played together at UAB they were quarterback and center. They still stay in touch and remained friends. Coach sent him my tape and he offered me”.

DMV Class of 2021 inside linebacker, Mason Woods, off-season recruitment has started off hot! This comes as no surprise after the Gar-Field High School standout emerged last season as one of the State of Virginia’s top defensive players. Last season, Woods accumulated an impressive 134 tackles including one scoop and score competing in Virginia’s highest classification 6A. His performance earned him Cardinal District Defensive Player of the Year, 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Region, and 2nd Team All-Nova honors.
Coaches and teammates often refer to Mason as “The Bully” because he doesn’t ‘duck any smoke’. Last year at the Appalachia Prep Combine, Woods lived up to his name after roughing up a couple of running backs during the 1 on 1s period. He finished the combine as 1 of 2 sophomores ranked in the Top 10 of the highly competitive linebackers group featuring several Division I signees and commits. “I didn’t really see any DMV line-backers, but I knew Gabe [Fuster]. I was just there to compete and get my name out there in recruiting”, said Woods. The Woodbridge product doesn’t only get physical in a t-shirt, but as his tape will show Mason is one of the most physical and hard-hitting linebackers in the country.
Woods’s physicality and skillset helped him earn his first Division I FBS offer from Liberty last week. Woods spoke in detail about how the offer came about after one of the Flames position coaches stopped by his high school.
