J.T. Powell

Founder & CEO

J.T. Powell is the founder and owner of the Appalachia Prep Combine. JT understands the needs of high school players living in underserved markets because he was once in their same shoes. Back in 2006, JT was the first athlete in southern West Virginia to be invited to a national high school football combine. It was at that combine where the idea of the Appalachia Prep Combine would conceive 11 years later. J.T., has helped hundreds of high school athletes receive scholarships to go to college in the shortest period of time of any recruiting platform. An impressive academic and professional resume has given our leader the tools to lead athletes in the 21st Century. He holds an M.B.A from Liberty University, and a B.S. in Marketing from Bluefield State where he was a 3rd generation student. He spent time in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia working for Advantage Solutions and Acosta Sales and Marketing as a Leadership Development Associate and Territory Manager representing some of the world's largest brands at the corporate level. J.T. was one of the top multi-sport athletes in West Virginia from 2004-2007 while at Bluefield High School. He graduated from Bluefield High School and signed a football scholarship to play at West Virginia State University where he earned a starting position at Strong Safety as a true freshmen appearing in all of his teams games. Finally, he is also co-owners with his wife Samantha at "Sam's Dawgs and Nachos" a mobile food establishment in southern West Virginia.
