Blue Chip freshman running back prospect Trenton Adkins from Ridgeview High School in Clintwood, VA talked about his latest offers, time at the Appalachia Prep Combine, and recruiting process with the APC earlier. Last year, Adkins rushed for 1,228 yards, and accounted for 15 touchdowns earning him a Virginia Region 2-D 1st Team Selection last season. The Ridgeview standout impressed coaches at the APC last month by standing out among keen competition, and by testing well for his age. His first Division I offer was an SEC one from the Vols earlier this month. UTSA and UNC both extended offers to this dynamic freshman last week also.

Adkins blended in with older guys and tested well. He stands at 6’0 and weighs 190 lbs. He also displayed good hands catching out of the backfield, and quick feet going through drills. The first word that came to my mind when I saw him working out at the APC was “swag”. Adkins finished the APC ranked in the Top 5 RBs at #4 and #25 overall. Look for more SEC schools to offer Adkins in the near future.
